And it’s no surprise that Bali has a huge coffee industry! Most Bali Coffee farms offer plantation and factory tours, as well as taste testing. Wouldn’t it be nice to spend the afternoon checking out a coffee farm with the fam? Today we are giving you a run-down of all the amazing coffee farms located in Bali:
The Munduk Moding Coffee Plantation Nature Resort and Spa is a resort and coffee plantation in one. The star of the show is, of course, the amazing coffee, which is grown through ethical practices. Surrounded by lush greens and stunning landscapes, the plantation is a great place to relax, get close to nature and get to know the local coffee!
The founders of the plantation pride themselves on their eco-friendly practices. In fact, the Munduk Moding Coffee Plantation is pretty much self-sustaining. Munduk Moding also works with local farmers and utilizes sustainable resources to create the finest organic coffee. During the tour, guests are taught how to process their own coffee. The tour guide will also teach guests all the wonderful things that set local coffee beans apart from other coffee varieties.
Of course, Munduk Moding also offers the world famous Luwak or civet coffee. And unlike other coffee farms, the civets in Munduk Moding are not caged. The civets roam around the plantation, selecting only the best coffee to eat. The beans are collected by hand and picked only when fully ripe. The kids will love seeing the civit cats and will surely be entertained by the thought of poop coffee!
Teba Sari Bali Agro-tourism is one of the most popular coffee farms in the Gianyar region. the farm is known for its collection of Asian palm civets or Luwak. Guests will get to see these lovely creatures roam around the plantation, picking the best coffee to eat.
The farm boasts of a sprawling plantation, tropical gardens, and picturesque landscapes. Local villagers are also there to teach guests how to use certain herbs and spices. Refreshments such chocolates, snacks, and coconut water are provided during the tour.
There is more to the Tegallalang region than the terraced rice paddies. Bali Pulina is a coffee farm that’s only 5 minutes away from the famed Tegallalang rice terraces. So why not swing by for a tour that ends with coffee tasting? For the kids there is an amazing tree house style viewing platform and a bridge that adventurous kids will love!
The guided tour includes a quick lesson on coffee production, getting up close and personal with the local civets and even take part in the production process! Apart from coffee, Bali Pulina also produces chocolate products using local cocoa. During the tour, you have the opportunity to taste all the wonderful products Bali Pulina offers including the teas, coffee, and chocs! Those who want to try the Kopi Luwak only need to pay an extra Rp50,000.
Cantik Agriculture is all about variety. Apart from offering the famed Luwak coffee, Cantik Agriculture also explores different flavors to create a variety of unique products including teas, chili chocolates and flavored coffee. The plantation offers educational tours that suit any ages. Of course, the resident civets are there to help out with the tour! Guests are free to sample different coffees, chocolate drinks, and tea infusions at no extra charge. At the onsite shop, guests can take home souvenirs including local fruits, Bali coffee, lemongrass tea, rosella tea, cocoa, and other products.
Lumbung Sari is based close to Ubud, sitting on acres of land with hundreds of coffee and cocoa trees. The plantation offers a guided tour that will appeal to kids and grownups alike. The tour will take you through the plantation where workers handpick the choicest coffee. And then, there are the local civets that work side by side plantation workers, happily munching on coffee that are turned into Luwak coffee. Luwak coffee happens to be the most expensive coffee in the world! The whole day tour also features workers roasting the coffee beans that were collected from the civets. The tour costs Rp50,000 and the onsite coffee store sells everything from coffee to teas, as well as burners, essential oils, and candles.
Munduk Sari Garden Villa is more than just a coffee plantation, it also grows clove, vanilla and cocoa. As you can imagine, the farm offers a mind-blowing selection of products and the expansive plantation highlights the beauty of the Balinese countryside. Munduk Sari Garden Villas offers trekking tours, canoeing, and rainforest tours as well as cooking lessons, plantation tours so the whole family will be entertained all day long.
Satria Agrowisata is a botanical garden and a coffee plantation in one. The plantation offers a guided tour where guests can feed the civets, sample the local coffee, and learn more about the complex processes to create a delicious cuppa joe!
The path along the farm is lined with fruit bearing trees, and indigenous shrubs. Apart from the coffee, the plantation also harvests cinnamon, turmeric, peppercorn, teas, and cocoa.
Satria Agrowisata has a great selection of essential oils, spices, and aromatherapy products too! During the tour, workers will demonstrate how the cocoa and coffee beans are roasted and processed. At the end of the tour, guests will sit down to sample the local products, including delicious hot cocoa for the kiddos.
Alam Bali Coffee is an agricultural coffee farm located in Ubud, near Mt. Batur. The plantation is open for guided tour where guests get to sample different types of brews. Apart from coffee, Alam Bali also produces high-quality clove, tea, avocado, and vanilla.
Alam Bali produces export quality coffee grown in the mountain central part of Bali. There are two types of coffee grown in Bali: Arabica and Robusta. Alam Bali grows Robusta coffee. The guided tour starts with a walk through the plantation, a quick lesson about processing coffee and Luwak coffee, and a taste testing of Alam Bali’s most sought-after products! Kids and adults can join in with the processing of the beans, which is fun for all.
